Do you ever remember the times when our moms would bake a cake for us? I certainly do remember the times when I would hang out the in the kitchen and watch her bake something. What I don’t remember is the how many times I’ve asked mom to bake a German Chocolate Cake. Man, I love that cake! It certainly is one of my most favorite cakes and I especially love the German Chocolate Cake icing that comes along with it!

Ingredients
• 1 cup evaporated milk
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 3 egg yolks
• 1/2 cup butter
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 cup chopped pecans
• 1 1/3 cups flaked coconut
Directions
1. In a large saucepan combine evaporated milk, brown sugar, egg yolks, butter and vanilla. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thick. Remove from heat and stir in pecans and coconut. Let cool to room temperature before spreading on cake.
